Learning Outcomes
The course is designed to equip students with the basic concepts of corporate finance. Learning experience includes: introduction to finance; investment making decisions; pricing of financial instruments such as bonds and stocks; the relationship between risk and return; cost of capital; and introduction to portfolio theory and Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM).
Textbook:
Brealey et al. (2009), Fundamentals of Corporate Finance, 6th edition, McGraw-Hill (Newest version updated until 2012)
Requirements for Completion of the Course:
- To assess the learning outcomes, we evaluate the students by continuous assessments through four following methods:
- Participation: the active participation of students in the class interaction.
- Presentation by group: the group will present the assigned case in 15’ – 20’ and will be questioned by another group. The students need to review questions, demonstrate their critical thinking skills, synthesis skills and analysis skills.
- Mid-term test and Final test: to assess the learning outcomes.
