This course is designed to develop the concept of risk and risk management, the insurance

purchase decision as an outcome of risk management decision-making. It also discusses financial
risk management using options, futures, forwards, swaps and other derivatives. Some basic
concepts of alternative risk transfer are introduced to get students to be familiar with different
types of products that can be used to manage risks.
